In the upcoming documentary Infinite Icon: A Visual Memoir, Paris Hilton candidly reflects on the biggest shock of her life: the sex tape leaked by her ex-boyfriend Rick Salomon in 2004, when she was just beginning to rise to fame with her TV show The Simple Life.

“I Thought My Life Was Over”
According to The Sun, the 44-year-old star said she was completely devastated at the time.

“It was one of the most painful experiences I’ve ever had. I was terrified, thinking that everything I had worked so hard to build would collapse,” Paris said emotionally.
She revealed that she once admired and wanted to emulate elegant female role models such as Princess Diana and Grace Kelly, believing that after the scandal, no one would ever see her that way again.
“I thought my life was over and I didn’t dare appear in public. I didn’t want to tour, I didn’t want to face the world, because it felt like everyone was already judging me. It almost crushed me,” Paris shared.
Moving Forward Despite Public Judgment
Despite the trauma, Paris Hilton tried to move forward by following her family’s advice: not to mention the incident and not to let it define her life.
“I smiled and kept moving forward, even though wherever I went I heard whispers, even being insulted by strangers with harsh words. The shame wasn’t mine, but I still had to carry it,” she said.
Paris Hilton faced the sex tape scandal in her early twenties.

“It Will Haunt Me for the Rest of My Life”
In a recent interview with Us Weekly, Paris was asked about how she coped with the scandal.
“Trusting someone and then being violated like that is the most horrible thing. It will haunt me for the rest of my life,” she admitted.
She also confirmed that she has not spoken to Rick Salomon since the incident and still feels deep sadness over what happened.
Life Today: Success, Family, and Healing
Today, the 44-year-old star is one of the highest-earning DJs in the world and enjoys a fulfilling personal life with her husband, investor Carter Reum.
The couple married in 2021 and have two children: son Phoenix Barron (born January 2023) and daughter London Marilyn (born November 2023).
“I’m grateful I found Carter. He makes me feel like I can soar higher than ever,” Paris said of her husband.
