On the morning of January 22 (U.S. time), the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences officially announced the list of nominees for the 2026 Academy Awards.
Sinners Makes Oscar History with Record-Breaking 16 Nominations
The biggest highlight of this year’s awards season is Sinners — a violent vampire horror film set in the American South and directed by Ryan Coogler.
The film made history by earning 16 nominations, the most ever received by a single film, surpassing the previous record of 14 nominations held by
All About Eve, Titanic, and La La Land.
Close behind is One Battle After Another, a politically charged drama exploring modern political extremism, which secured 13 major nominations.

Warner Bros., Netflix, and Neon Dominate the 2026 Oscar Race
Thanks to the strong performance of Sinners and One Battle After Another, Warner Bros. leads the 2026 Oscars with a total of
30 nominations, marking a powerful comeback after a turbulent year.
Netflix also made a notable showing with Frankenstein and Train Dreams, while independent studio Neon impressed with
18 nominations, largely driven by critically acclaimed foreign-language films.
